On the day Kobe Bryant tragically died, new filmmaker Andy Bernstein was visiting from Boston.  What Andy witnessed that day was a city that came together to mourn and celebrate the life of their favorite son. The reaction he saw in Los Angeles was counter to everything Andy thought he knew about LA. The city built on Glitz and Glamour of Hollywood, apathetic sports fans, and a place filled with transplants who arrive late and leave early at games. This inspired Andy to create a new documentary that explores sports in the city of Los Angeles.  His goal was to find the people, the places, and the things that makes up the LA sports landscape.   Was the Kobe Bryant reaction just an aberration, or could it be that there was more to the LA sports story that hasn’t been told. With the help of former UCLA Bruins great turned actor Mike Warren.  Andy was able to immerse himself to the Los Angeles sporting culture to get a better understanding of what LA sports is made of. For the next two years, Andy went out to find the real sports stories that will provide viewers with an accurate depiction of the place that everyone outside of LA wants to BEAT. The tone for the film is built on Andy’s curiosity, and relationship building skills which helps him create connections with subjects that reaches across all demographics, geography that makes up Los Angeles. The real stories of sports in Los Angeles is made up of categories to demonstrate to viewers that the subject of sports in LA is important, far reaching and complex.
